Volunteer business and civic leaders recently visited 110 businesses as part of the 5th Annual Rancho Cordova Business Walk.

The Business Walk is conducted by the Sacramento Metro Chamber and presented by the City of Rancho Cordova and Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce to gain feedback on benefits of doing business in the area as well as ideas for improvement.

The conversation focused on three basic ideas: how is business, what do you like about doing business in Rancho Cordova, and what should be done to improve business in Rancho Cordova.

The majority of businesses interviewed were positive and reported a good/great rating for business. Of these companies, some even indicated an increase in customers and sales over the last year while others pointed out business is up to sufficiently warrant new hiring.

“This year’s Rancho Cordova Business Walk once again demonstrates the breadth and diversity of the many businesses that are prospering in our City,” said Rancho Cordova Mayor Linda Budge. “Visiting our business community at their locations is our opportunity to understand firsthand the support and services that the City can provide to ensure they continue to grow and prosper.”

Companies enjoy conducting business in Rancho Cordova because of the location and community. They said Rancho Cordova provides a central location in the region with easy access to freeways. Employees live in or near Rancho Cordova and enjoy locating close to home.

Businesses also discussed the friendliness of community members, aesthetics and cleanliness, and affordability. Many businesses have been in Rancho Cordova for several decades because of the community.

“Rancho Cordova has become the Center of it All in the region, and local businesses echo this sentiment,” said Curt Haven, Rancho Cordova Economic Development Director. “It has become the place to belong, prosper and play."
