Shanahans Towing to the Rescue when "Haunted Car" Mystery Strikes Again!

Shanahans Towing to the Rescue when "Haunted Car" Mystery Strikes Again!

Elk Grove to Gold River -- Most women dread being stranded when our car suddenly refuses to start. That's why having insurance coverage for emergency road service is very important to minimize the hassle of being stranded and alone. Fortunately, my insurance company called Shanahans Auto Body & Paint that has 24-hour towing and Louie Alemar was at my side within minutes! He towed my car to Add Performance in Gold River where the mechanical wizard, Dave McDonald, drove away my car's "demon" within minutes! Dave exorcised a corroded battery cable, and I was on my way. Even though both Dave McDonald and Louie Alemar were just doing their respective jobs, they both excelled with their knowledge and A+ customer service! When you need car repairs, contact Dave McDonald at www.AddPerformance.com because Dave says, "It'sy All About the Horsepower!"

Mega Millions Lottery Winning Ticket Purchased in Arden

Mega Millions Lottery Winning Ticket Purchased in Arden

Mega Million mania is reaching astronomical heights, with this Friday's jackpot set for an all time record high of $500 million.

In the meantime, though there was no big winner in last night's drawing, nine players did manage to match five out of six of the numbers.

Those winning tickets are worth $308,573 each, and one of those winners bought the ticket right here in Arden.

That's right!

Tuesday's lottery winner bought the winning ticket at Arco ampm, which is located at the corner of Alta Arden and Watt Avenue.

Perhaps Friday's Mega Million Lottery will spotlight another Sacramento resident.

We'll let you know this weekend!!

My Social Media Experiment

My Social Media Experiment

Back in the fall of 2010 I sat quietly in the back of a room waiting for a seminar on Social Media to begin. Actually, I didn’t know how watching TV news with a bunch of friends was going to help my business. While the take away message from that little seminar was “Pitch your products to your 23 Facebook friends”, I caught a glimpse of how Social Media could work for me.

Without too much preparation, I dove into the Social Media swimming pool hoping that it was not empty.

Blind Faith: Marketing Failures

Blind Faith: Marketing Failures

If you can...learn from my mistakes.

At what point do you call a marketing effort a mistake and move on? What measurements do you use? My lesson is to be aware of becoming too emotionally attached to a marketing effort to the point you are blinded to the reality of poor results.

In my case, I joined an organization that I really felt a connection with. The people and mission of supporting and growing business were great. I attended 95% of the monthly events including special educational sessions. Since I have no problem networking, I was able to meet virtually every member, staff, and all the directors. It is safe to say that within the membership, if people did not know me by sight, they knew my name. In addition to regular meetings, I volunteered for committees and helped out at any event when asked.

From my point of view, it is not enough to just show up; you have to be active and support the other businesses.
