2nd Annual "Dog Days of Summer" Show July 31 - September 20

A Benefit for Front Street Animal Shelter

Come celebrate our canine and feline friends at "Dog Days of Summer", and support a great cause! This year's show will be a fundraiser for Front Street Animal Shelter, and will run from July 31st - September 20, 2014. Artwork includes paintings, sculptures, and a collection of original art refrigerator magnets. There's something for every animal lover!

A portion of each art sale will go to assist Front Street Animal Shelter with their mission to provide quality care for more than 11,000 animals that come to the shelter each year. Your support helps to provide emergency and advanced veterinary care for sick or injured animals, and funding for adoption programs that help shelter pets find their "forever" homes.  Your support helps save lives!

Sacramento Museums to Showcase Variety & Diversity With Interactive Booth at the Fair

For the first time ever, the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) will offer an interactive and fun booth at the California State Fair (July 11-27, 2014) in an effort to showcase the variety and diversity of offerings available in our region.   State Fair guests are invited to imagine, explore and discover more about local museums and destinations at the visually-exciting Sacramento Museums booth that will be located in Building A on the bottom floor next to the State Fair Post Office.

In addition to providing helpful information about all 30 SAM member museums, the Sacramento Museums booth will include a number of hands-on activities every day that include the following:

Rocklin Area Chamber Hosts Evening in the Park Concert Series

Every year, the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the summer concert series: Evening in the Park located at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin.

This free, fun, family event is open to all residents in the Rocklin and surrounding areas! Businesses are encouraged to take part of the Friday night concerts by either sponsoring the event, or by having a business booth out there. The average attendance of patrons to Evening in the Park is 500-1,000 each night.

Each concert that is hosted has a different theme and style of music. For 2014, the themes for Evening in the Park are:

Spend your Fourth on the Field!

Spend your Fourth on the Field!

Still searching for something to do this July 4th? Come out and celebrate our nation’s birthday on the baseball field! Raley Field will bring the neighborhood block party feel to the River Cats' home turf this Friday night.

In the evening, kiddos can enjoy a fun-filled kids area equipped with games, coloring pages, face painters, and inflatable structures; local food trucks, beer, and live music from Nunchuck Taylor will entertain grown-ups.

To cap off the night, find a comfy spot on the field and watch the night sky above the ballpark light up with a spectacular fireworks show synced to patriotic music at 9:30pm. (Blankets are okay; no chairs are allowed on the field.)
