Exotic Supercar Show & Rally Fundraiser Sept 8

Ferraris (including a Ferrari 458 Challenge car), a McLaren MP4-12C, a Lamborghini and more will converge on Gold River next Sunday, September 8, with one goal in mind.  The owners of these exotic cars are joining forces to bring awareness to epilepsy and raise money for a cure.  It’s all part of a car show and champagne brunch extravaganza called the “Exotic Supercar Show and Rally.”

The funds raised at the event go to the Bronte Epilepsy Research Foundation.  Bronte is a local, 20 year old girl, with a severe form of epilepsy called, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which subjects its victims to seizures every couple of minutes without proper medication and treatment.  All epilepsy research monies stay local, going to UC Davis Health-Bronte Epilepsy Research Program and the Sutter Neuroscience Institute.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: Try Something NEW!!

2013 Weekly Challenge #33: Try something New!

As school starts, the days shorten, and summer starts to wane, I have been finding myself in a rut. I am doing the same things on the same days week after week after week and it feels like Groundhog Day. Nothing feels new or fresh. Am I alone?

BloodSource Assists Patients and Pets this Summer

BloodSource Assists Patients and Pets this Summer

BloodSource is helping patients - and animal shelter pets - this summer by matching the number of blood drive participants with bags of food to be donated to Titanic’s Pantry, also known as the Sacramento Pet Food Bank*. Many of our blood donors have a soft spot in their hearts for abandoned pets and this is a novel way to help. Blood donors should refer to Donor Club #2127 when they donate blood at any BloodSource Donor Center or mobile blood drive from July 29 to August 4, 2013. Western Feed & Pet Supply has partnered to provide the bags of pet food at a discount.

The Midtown BloodSource Donor Center at 1608 Q. Street has partnered specifically with City of Sacramento Front Street Animal Services and Western Feed & Pet Supply to host a Bow-Meow Blood Drive on Tuesday, July 30, from 9:00 a.m.
