Hagan Park Entry Plaza renovation project

The Cordova Recreation and Park District announced that construction has begun on the Hagan Park Entry Plaza renovation project.  The project includes renovation of the bridge, stairs, ADA ramp, concrete, and landscape in the front of the community center buildings.  Emphasis will be on accessibility, security, safety, and lighting improvements, in addition to better serving rental needs and creating a more professional atmosphere for the District offices.

When completed, the Hagan Entry Plaza and Event Garden will be available for hosting events and private gatherings.  Design features include a new mosaic fountain, a decorative pedestrian bridge, pathway improvements, a wheelchair access ramp, picnic and seating areas and high efficiency LED solar lighting.   The project area is located at the main entrance to the Cordova Recreation and Park District Office in Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova.

This project is funded through a grant from the State of California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 and local funds at a cost of $345,098.00. The renovation will be completed in late spring 2011.

The public is asked to be aware of the construction activity and follow detour signs posted throughout Hagan Community Park when visiting the administrative offices over the next 3 months.  Construction areas will be fenced off for public safety.

Several recreation programs have been temporarily relocated due to the construction.  Participants are encouraged to check their class receipts or contact the District at (916) 362-1841 or crpd@crpd.com

More information about the project can be found at www.crpd.com.
