Dave McDonald at Add Performance Auto Care in Gold River Solves Mystery

Dave McDonald isn't afraid of ghosts, which was fortunate for me when my car's electrical system suddenly zapped out after I went through the haunted restaurant tour at Woodbridge Crossing in Lodi on Thursday. News10 contributing bloggers enjoyed a delicious lunch at Woodbridge Crossing and were then enticed by ghost stories about the haunting of the restaurant's basement, which long ago was the local jail.

Thanksgiving is Perfection at The Firehouse

Thanksgiving is Perfection at The Firehouse

Step out of the kitchen and into Sacramento’s most award-winning restaurant!

Named “Best Special Occasion” restaurant by SACRAMENTO magazine, The Firehouse is the perfect place to dine with family and friends this Thanksgiving.

Keeping with the restaurant’s tradition of providing nothing but the best, Executive Chef Deneb Williams has prepared a delicious four-course prix-fixe menu using the best fresh, local and seasonal ingredients the region has to offer.  Priced at $46.95 per person, this menu will be served from 12:30 to 8 p.m.

Nice Display For a Tortilla

Nice Display For a Tortilla

I found this a little humorous. We're at a joint to eat in Placerville and they brought this out as an appetizer. I'm not poking fun, but I chuckled when this arrived and i had to take a shot of it. They also had taco truck pinatas hanging from the ceiling. I'm getting one of those next time!

Local Restaurant Seizes The Sun!

Rancho Cordova, CA – Locally owned Brookfields Restaurant has always taken pride in their wholesome, homemade
fresh food, and in providing exceptional customer service. Brookfields has also been very active in
recycling.

For over a decade they have been saving our landfills by recycling cardboard, glass, paper and
plastic.  Waste grease from their fryers is picked up by a local oil company and converted to biodiesel.
And, they are currently investigating recycling vegetable waste with a local composter.

In addition, biodegradable products are used to package Brookfields “to go” meals, including utensils made from
potatoes.

The Brookfields “green revolution” expanded this month.  Air Systems of Sacramento, and a local
solar products manufacturer, SolarRoofs.com, are installing solar thermal panels to offset hot water
needs at their Folsom Blvd. location.

Review: Hong Kong House

Review: Hong Kong House

The general area where I work doesn't have very much to offer within walking distance, so if I should forget my lunch, like I did yesterday, I'm left with three choices: McDonald's, Stonebrooks (a former Lyon's), or this relatively new place called Hong Kong House.  Since the service at Stonebrooks has been extremely slow the few times I've been taken there, and the McDonald's on Watt & Manlove is particularly bad, I decided to see what the new kid on the block was like.
