Sacramento Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall Patnership

The Sacramento Community is coming together to keep arts alive in schools. The Collaboration between Sacramento Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall partnership culminates in grand performance this coming Thursday, May 19th when over 2,200 students, third to sixth grade, will fill the Capital Christian Center Auditorium for an interactive performance that is the result of a yearlong program with the goal of engaging underserved school children with a meaningful music experience.

This started In March 2010, after years of reaching children through music, Michael Morgan and the Sacramento Philharmonic were one of a select few orchestras throughout the nation contacted by the prestigious organization to expand the "Weil Music Institute at Carnegie Hall- LinkUP for Music Education". Elements of the program included supplying each child with their own recorder, a music curriculum provided by the Weil Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, and school visits by musicians to mentor the participants towards putting on a concert of their newly acquired skills.
